How To Test For Phishing Emails

You’ve probably noticed that, from time to time, your email client will flag a “suspicious email”. It’s a good feature, helping to sort out spam and potentially dangerous emails.

But what about all the other ones that make it into your inbox? Do any of those ever make you suspicious? Are you wondering if there’s a way to test if an email attachment or link is dangerous or not?

If you ever receive an email attachment or get sent a link that you’re unsure about, you don’t have to take any risks.

Using the VirusTotal browser extension, you can drag and drop attachments or input links to have them tested. If it’s been flagged as a threat by other sites online, VirusTotal will let you know.
